Relationships can be so challeging in Social Distance.
The quarantine has been hard for everyone at different levels, we are all worried about our health, our families, and friends, with our jobs and how to keep going despite the uncertain time and difficulties. The social distance affects how we live in every aspect of our lives, and specially the relationships we have.
It is not so easy to spend 24 hours together with the same person or people in the same space. So, it is comprehensive that many people are having problems to stay at home. And that is normal and ok, we are not perfect, and it is a challenging situation, we do not have to deal with it pretending that it is all fine.
But we can do small things to make it a bit easier and better for everybody. Self-care is really important especially mental care. And one thing we all can do now is respect our moments and space and the others. Even if you are in the same house, you can take some time off to do something just for you and let people around you know that this is your moment. It can be 15 minutes, an hour or a day.
Choose a time of the day as well to do something that you all enjoy. Be in quarantine can show how similar we are and get us closer by discovering what we enjoy doing together, maybe cooking something new, maybe playing games, maybe just watching a new series on Netflix. Talk to each other and you will find a lot of opportunities to be creative and have fun.
And if you are apart from those you love and care, there are simple actions to show how you care, like sending small presents for the loved one, calling by video instead of just call by phone, so you still can see each other, sharing moments of your day by texting, keeping a moment of the day to talk to those you miss, and if it is a special date as a birthday, for examples a virtual dinner is not the most romantic thing in the world, but it is very sweet and important in times of quarantine.
It is a moment to change for better and keep positive thoughts. Nothing lasts forever, and this will pass as well, soon we all be together and better.
